What Is the Best Procedure for Hair Restoration?
Innovations in hair transplant surgery such as follicular unit transplantation (FUT) and follicular unit extraction (FUE) produce excellent results when performed by a plastic surgeon with exceptional credentials and experience. Those are only two of the options available to our patients; however, Dr. Quatela, Dr. Lee, and Dr. Montague recommend the best approach for your situation based on their experience and your cosmetic goals. For example, not everyone is a good candidate for hair transplant surgery, which is why we also offer nonsurgical approaches to hair restoration.

Patients from Buffalo, Syracuse, and throughout New York who are bothered by balding in the crown area may benefit from scalp reduction surgery. Depending on the size of the balding area, part or all of it is excised, and the scalp is pulled together to close the defect. This results in a lower hairline and smaller forehead area. For some patients, a dramatic improvement can be achieved. The best candidates for scalp reduction surgery generally have good donor hair density and a highly elastic scalp.

Eyebrow thinning or loss can have a significant impact on an individual’s total appearance, since eyebrows are a key landmark on the face. Eyebrow loss can also have a damaging effect on one’s self-esteem and personal confidence. Any individual who has partial or complete loss of one or both eyebrows is a possible candidate for an eyebrow transplant using their own natural hair from another area, such as the back of the head.
