What is 82S?
Formula 82S is a 3-in-1 shampoo, conditioner, and anti-hair loss product designed to strengthen hair fibers, restore a soft, natural texture to damaged hair, and aid in the prevention of hair loss. Formula 82S hair loss shampoo contains the active ingredient Saw Palmetto, a natural, botanically-derived 5-alpha reductase inhibitor that has been shown in studies to help reduce DHT production and prevent hair loss.
It’s also beneficial to patients post-transplant as it ensures they are using a gentle cleanser and not damaging their new hair growth through the use of sulfates, parabens, Sodium Chloride, and phthalate, all of which are often found in lower quality shampoos.
Harmful Chemicals in Lower Quality Shampoos
There are quite a few ingredients in many mainstream shampoos that are harmful to hair. These include:
- Sulfate: Strips away too much moisture or natural oils, leaving the hair dry or brittle and unhealthy. May also make the scalp dry and prone to irritation.
- Parabens: Cause a number of problems for your hair including dryness, irritation to the scalp, fading hair color, and even hair loss.
- Phthalate: Can contribute to hair loss because it can disrupt the hormones that function to regulate the hair cycle.
- Sodium Chloride: Sodium chloride, which you may know better as table salt, is used as a thickener in shampoos and conditioners containing sodium lauryl sulfate. Sodium Chloride may also be the cause of dry and itchy scalp in addition to hair loss. Also, if you do keratin treatments, it’s best to avoid sodium chloride as it can cause the process to wear off faster.
